About Me

About me

Howdy! I’m Kendall. A 30-year-old wife and stay-at-home mom to two boys, two dogs, and two new kittens. I love Jesus, animals, all things homemaking, the outdoors, reading, traveling, good skies, and spending time with family and friends.

My husband, Chase, and I met on Instagram in 2016 and became fast friends through our mutual love of dogs, nature, music, the days of old, and each other’s faces. 😆 But with me in Virginia and him in Wisconsin, we didn’t actually meet in person until a random out-of-the-blue invite (by me) to a rock concert in Madison, Wisconsin, when my brother had a sudden change of plans and wasn’t able to go. Somewhere between meeting him with a Budweiser in hand, my black leather jacket, his cowboy boots and stellar beard, the vibrations of Highway Tune pounding through our chests, the famous Old Fashioned cheese curds, the crisp fall air of a night in Wisconsin, and the late-night, tell-me-all-your-dreams, close-down-the-bar kinda heart to heart, we became pretty smitten with each other. And can you believe that after all that, he didn’t even kiss me at the end of the night!? But even still, through that incredible first date and end-of-the-night talk, we realized we had so much in common— the same core values, same sense of humor, and the same big farm-life dreams; and it quickly became that “can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, World Series kind of love.” We were engaged six months later!

I’ll spare you all the details for now but it has been a rocky-at-times journey since we said, “I do.” And there have been many days/years we saw our dream of one day living on a farm seemingly crashing and burning. But after lots of ups and downs, happy times and hard times, wonderful additions, agonizing losses, counseling sessions, financial fluctuations, neighborhood homes, months of renting, months of house hunting, rejected offers, job changes, and the continuous recentering of our lives and marriage on Christ, our marriage has gotten astronomically better and we finally purchased a tiny little fixer upper on ten acres. God has been so kind and so faithful through it all, and we can finally see a glimmer of our lifelong dream appearing. We are still figuring it all out and have a long long way to go in all aspects of life. But there’s so many tids and bits that I’m learning about Jesus, marriage, my faith, motherhood, homemaking, cooking, animals, and life in general that I’m excited to share with anyone who stops by!
